Position Description

 

Entry
Requirements:           The YMCA's of Council Bluffs and Glenwood are looking for individuals to assume responsibilities as Sports Site Supervisors for the 2009 sports season of basketball. These positions are located in  Glenwood and Council Bluffs Iowa. Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and possess the experience suitable for the position. Individuals must gain a thorough understanding of the basic philosophy, nature and goals of the YMCA and have developed solid human relation’s skills. Individual must possess maturity, sound judgment, and be imbued with a strong sense of responsibility. Sound organizational skills, as well as good oral and written communications skills and attention to detail are essential elements required to perform the duties of this position. Individual will be required to deal with the public on an on-going basis. Individual must possess current CPR and First Aid certifications or be willing to obtain them.
 Principle
Responsibilities:        Individuals will work under the direction of the Sports Program Director, and will assist in the development, implementation, and supervision of youth sports programs. Will supervise and coordinate with volunteers for assigned youth sports programs. Ensures all appropriate game paperwork is filled out completely and accurately. Ensures coaches have all appropriate paperwork and that it is filled out correctly. Exemplifies appropriate behavior at all times, and is a role model for participants and parents alike. Assist the Program Director in the evaluation of program on a periodic basis to ensure adequate growth, relevance, safety, and quality of delivery. Assist in the hiring, training, supervision and evaluations of department employees. Must assume full responsibility and be constantly concerned and aware of safety issues, becoming directly involved with the continual development and implementation of safety practices.
