Primary Duties: The communications specialist is primarily responsible for handling all types of calls received at the communications center within the hospital. This includes calls received at the main hospital switchboard, requests for Airlink services (dispatching of flight team), monitoring radio communications regarding health care emergencies, overhead paging of both emergency and non-emergency announcements, and monitoring communications center equipment.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to read and write English. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Certification as an EMT-B is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess good verbal communication skills; computer skills, critical thinking skills, have good phone etiquette, and have the ability to provide outstanding customer service.
Schedule: Rotating shifts; 2 8-hr shifts/wk and 2 12-hr shifts/wk, including overnights
Week/Holiday Schedule: Rotating weekends and holidays
