The Alexandria, Virginia office of HDR is looking for a Commissioning and Facility Services Agent. The primary duties of the Commissioning Agent will include planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of projects from small to large size with a high degree of technical complexity. This will require the ability to be involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently. They will establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings, in addition to conducting design development, contract document work sessions, and system testing at the project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines. They will be responsible for coordinating the workload of the staff through the entire project's development to complete documents on schedule, and work with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller or Company Controller and the Department Manager for project reviews. They will also be responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures, and the execution of training for personnel as established by strategic plans, and will typically supervise large project staffs and act as a mentor for less experienced Project Managers.

BS degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.

5+ years experience with Commissioning of Facilities.

Commissioning Certifications with NEBB, AABC, or BCA preferred.

Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication both written and verbal skills.

Experience with providing an owner's representative style of facilities/commissioning services for healthcare, lab, and civic buildings a must.

Background in testing and balancing of mechanical systems preferred.

Must have the ability to lead projects, mentor staff, and maintain client relationships.
