Our client is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their growing team. The selected team member will be responsible for providing timely, relevant, and accurate reporting and analysis of business results. The Financial Analyst will identify, develop, and analyze key drivers, metrics, and modeling to support decision-making and progress tracking.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, relevant, and accurate reporting and analysis of business results
    • Utilize systems (SAP, QlikView, Power BI, Adaptive) to consolidate and report actuals vs. comparison periods and/or forecast
    • Reconcile financial reports to source systems
    • Identify, develop, and analyze key drivers and metrics to support decision-making and progress tracking
    • Suggest and drive process improvement related to reporting and analysis
  • Manage the execution and delivery of the of the financial plan and forecast
    • Coordinate with businesses and corporate departments on forecast development
    • Utilize financial systems to consolidate and report on forecasts
    • Analyze key drivers of forecasted results vs. prior periods and projections
    • Suggest and drive process improvement related to the forecast process
  • Perform ad hoc modeling and analysis
    • Proactively review and analyze information related to business KPI’s for variance from normal trends
    • Leverage ERP and reporting systems to accelerate speed to insights
    • Gather, analyze, and summarize data related to various business proposals
    • Monitor and report relevant industry data and peer comparisons
    • Develop and maintain various financial models to support the strategic planning process
  • Perform reporting and analysis functions for the Agency’s Business Unit
    • Ensure Agency’s financial reporting is in alignment with SPSCI standards
    • Learn and navigate the MetalTraq ERP system and its financial data connections
    • Research and resolve financial, inventory, and operational inquiries within the appropriate system of record
    • Act as a key tester and resource during the ERP transition from MetalTraq to SAP
    • Work cross-functionally to support accurate and consistent reporting throughout system changes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent work experience
  • Two to five years’ experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis 
  • Experience utilizing and developing BI reporting and planning tools
  • Ability to successfully complete a structured one-to-two-year training program
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel)
  • High attention to detail
  • Capability to learn new software and program applications
  • Ability to prioritize in a time-sensitive environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform primary job responsibilities while spending long periods of time at a computer

Preferred Background Experience

  • SAP (end user)
  • Microsoft Fabric and/or Power BI
  • Planning software (i.e., Adaptive Planning)
