Job Summary

*Hybrid-incumbent is required to work a percentage of time each week in one of our offices.*

The AIP (Approved Insurance Provider) Specialist serves as a point of contact and a resource for insurance team members regarding federally-reinsured multi-peril crop insurance (MPCI), private supplemental insurance products, private named-peril livestock insurance products and technology developed and provided by AIPs to their agents and customers. Incumbent will research and acquire competitor AIP product offerings and capabilities and will develop and publish AIP and competitor product and capability comparisons. Develop and maintain internal processes. Serve as a point of contact and resource for customer-facing and agent-facing technology developed by AIPs and third-party providers, including AIP Affiliates. Research and monitor industry insurance technology offered by AIPs and independent contractors. Compile and share process and system feedback to AIPs, and coordinate AIP scorecard reviews. Collaborate with AIPs to identify and prioritize product, process and system enhancements, as well as new tool development. Collaborate with internal business and technical stakeholders to identify and prioritize enhancements to internally-developed digital tools, mobile platforms, and new tool development. Collaborate with internal technical stakeholders to ensure connections to agent and customer portals. Report, track and communicate AIP processing and system issues. Assist with the development and delivery of training materials to ensure they are accurate, clear and easily understood. Coordinate and provide content for customer communications, as requested. Serve as business owner/product manager for internally developed technology, as requested. Serve as an on-call agent to support the Agency to augment staffing, provide coverage during extended agent absence, provide agent support during employee turnover and/or transitions. Maybe asked to assist, present, or provide presentations to teammates and producers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact and resource for insurance team members regarding MPCI, private supplemental insurance products, private named-peril livestock insurance products and technology developed and provided by AIPs and third-party partners to agents and customers. Identify and communicate changes and assist with training team members on AIP systems and products, and third-party technology. Report, coordinate and track AIP processing and system issue follow-up and resolution with AIPs and third-party partners. Communicate issues and workarounds to insurance teammates and keep them informed of resolutions.
  • Cultivate relationships with AIP underwriters, marketing representatives, product managers and technology personnel, as well as industry peers, to gather, analyze and understand the MPCI, private supplemental insurance products, private named-peril livestock insurance products and technology offerings of AIPs and competitors. Prepare, communicate, and maintain product summaries and sales presentations for agency use. Identify and communicate changes and assist with training team members on AIP systems and products.
  • Obtain and maintain feedback from team members and leaders regarding AIP products, systems, and service. Compile and share process and system feedback with AIPs. Participate in and coordinate AIP scorecard reviews. Collaborate with AIPs to identify and prioritize product, process, and system enhancements, as well as new product and tool development.
  • Develop and maintain internal processes related to insurance products and systems, and work with insurance leaders to ensure standardization of processing throughout the agency, maximum processing quality, and consistent application of insurance rules. Organize and contribute to knowledge base.
  • Serve as an on-call agent to support the Agency to augment staffing, provide coverage during extended agent absence, provide agent support during employee turnover and/or transitions.
  • Collaborate with internal business and technical stakeholders to identify and prioritize enhancements to internally-developed digital tools, mobile platforms, and new tool development, and ensure connections to agent and customer portals. Serve as business owner/product manager for internally-developed technology, as requested.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of training materials to ensure they are accurate, clear and easily understood.
  • Coordinate and provide content for internal and customer communications.
  • Perform special studies and research projects related to insurance activities as assigned by Insurance leadership.

Travel Time

  • Travel during the day and/or overnight - 25%.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business or Technology preferred.

Years of Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in Crop insurance industry and a solid understanding of crop insurance regulations, rules, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Livestock Insurance preferred.
